Your Arrival

When you arrive at IBAM London you will be warmly welcomed and will quickly get to know the staff, your fellow students, your surroundings and all the facilities available.

IBAM LondonOn arrival you will be welcomed to IBAM by the Principal and a selection of tutors, careers advisors and senior academics will be on hand to ensure you become familiar with IBAM, the campus and how we can help to support you through your studies with us.

Freshers Week

You will get to know your fellow IBAM colleagues during Fresher’s Week! With activities and sessions for all interests it is designed to ensure students have the support networks they need before beginning their studies. Students will be invited to events and meetings both within IBAM London Campus and in and around London so that you are familiar with everything on offer and how to get from A to B. As part of enrolment, students also receive FREE membership of NUS Extra – a great way to gain discounts and take advantage of offers from restaurants, clubs, shops, travel and events.

Beginning your IBAM studies

At the start of your programme of study you are required to undertake an Induction programme which contains all the information you need to get you started on your study. As part of your induction you will be required to complete an interactive quiz to consolidate your understanding of the processes and procedures you will encounter during your studies. The aims of the Induction are for you to:

  • Get to know staff and fellow students.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of your programme of study.
  • Ask questions relating to any aspect of the learning experience.
  • Become acquainted with RDI procedures and policies.
  • Become acquainted with the procedures and policies of the University or examining body that accredits your course.

IBAM London

Teaching and Learning

You will receive a minimum of 10 hours per week classroom based learning activity which will normally be scheduled over two-and-half days to enable the student to undertake independent study and part-time work for the remainder of the week. The classroom sessions are led by UK University approved academics and will include the opportunity for one-to-one discussions. All classroom sessions will be interactive and build on the additional learning provided through ilearn, the online resource centre and learning environment.

Learning Materials

For each module you study with IBAM you will be provided with a comprehensive set of learning materials to supplement the learning you will undertake during your tutored classes. The module learning materials are designed to facilitate your learning and to allow you to achieve the learning outcomes for each module. The material is interactive and contains practical activities, which have been designed to enable you to apply theoretical principles and frameworks.

In addition, you will access all of your learning material for the programme via ilearn.

Textbooks

You are required to purchase a course text book for some of the subjects you study. The titles of the books used on the course are to be found in the booklist given to you at registration. The College Library stocks all the titles listed. Lecturers may suggest additional titles for you to consult but you are not required to buy them. You are encouraged to make good use of the Library which should be able to satisfy all your reading requirements.
