Title: Psychology of well-being
Description: This course will give you an understanding of:
• A contextual overview of psychology of well-being and positive psychology
• Emotional and cognitive components of well-being
• Factors that contribute to the experience of well-being (correlates and predictors of well-being)
• Feeling good versus doing what matters: hedonic and eudaimonic perspectives on well-being
• Well-being across cultures
• Exercises to increase well-being
Title: Psychology of engagement
Description: This course will give you an understanding of:
• The concept of flow/engagement
• Characteristics of flow
• Conditions of flow
• Enhancing flow though strengths utilisation
• The VIA inventory of strengths and virtues
• The StrengthsFinder Inventory of strengths
Title: Hope, optimism and resilience
Description: This course will give you an understanding of:
• The bases of positive future-oriented thinking
• The role of positive illusions
• Theories of optimism: dispositional optimism and explanatory style
• The hope theory
• The role of hope and optimism in enhancing resilience
• Key resilience strategies
