Tuition fee increase confirmed

Following intense media speculation and Lord Browne's report in October, university fees have today been confirmed by the coalition government.

Fees will rise from the current level of £3,290 per year to a minimum of £6,000 per year with an upper limit of £9,000 for some universities.
