Funding now available for distance learning students
RDI is passionate about giving everyone the opportunity to study and continues to increase the flexbility of its programmes whilst reducing the barriers to entry. Students applying for distance learning programme through RDI from the UK/EU can now apply for government grants - helping them fund their studies and invest in themselves.There are now even more reasons not to delay your studies!
Who can benefit from this funding?
UK and EU students can apply for funding through the following programmes studied by visiting www.direct.gov.uk/sfforms2011. This website will guide you and explain what you may be entitled to.
What programmes are available?
What funding could be available?
1. The Fee Grant
Covers part of the cost of course fees, students can receive a maximum of £1,230 per year which is assessed on household income. Funds are paid directly to RDI and students do not have to pay the grant back.
2. Course Grant
Can cover costs of course related expenses such as books, students can receive a maximum of £265 per year which is assessed on household income. Funds are paid directly to the student and students do not have to pay the grant back.
How to apply for funding
Please note: students cannot apply for funding until they have been accepted onto one of the above programmes and have paid for their starter pack (or first module for a BA top-up). Students need to be studying for more than two weeks before RDI are able confirm that they are a student - click here to browse these programmes or click here to apply online now.
STEP 1
Part time application forms are available from August 2011. If you are a new student download the application from www.direct.gov.uk/sfforms2011; If you are a continuing student please download the PTG1 Form from www.direct.gov.uk/sfforms2011 .
STEP 2
Once you have completed your application please post to: RDI, Midland Management Centre, 1a Brandon Lane, Coventry, CV3 3RD, UK.
Once you have been studying for more than two weeks, RDI will complete the college section on the application and return to you by post.

Once you have received the signed form from RDI please return your application to:

STEP 4
Once Student Finance England have received your form and assessed your eligibility they will confirm the amount you will receive.
STEP 5
RDI receive the funds and deduct this amount from the remaining balance of your course fees.Students can apply for financial support for up to 8 years of your studies. If you have any questions specifically about finance please contact Student Finance England: www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance.
