Q) Where do you live?

A) South Shields County Durham

Q) Which course are you currently studying?

A) MBA (University of Wales)

Q) What are your living circumstances?

A) Married with two brilliant daughters aged 10 and 7

Q) Do you work full-time or part-time and where?

A) Working full time in the rail industry as an engineer. We look after lifts, escalators, lighting and all Electro-Mechanical equipment around the rail system.

Q) Why did you choose RDI?

A) It fitted in with work and with home. Getting day release wasn't really an option due to workload etc.

Q) Did you always think you'd be studying for your qualifications?

A) Yes, it was always my ambition to study for my MBA

Q) Any adversity or issues along the way?

A) Just the usual issues of not enough time to work study and have a home life with our children.

Q) How has Higher Education changed your career, personal life or you as a person?

A) My career has been helped at each major step by my acaedemic qualifications, HNC, Degree and now hopefully the MBA.

Q) What do you believe are the main benefits of distance learning?

A) It takes a lot of discipline and self motivation, two benefits to take back to the workplace!!

Q) What will your qualification give you and what is next?

A) Hopefully the next step up the ladder along with knowledge, skills and the confidence from completing the course.

Q) Anything you'd like to add?

I've enjoyed the first year so far, despite being stretched for time to hit the deadlines. Having said that, I have learnt and have acquired knowledge I didn't have before, so it's definately been worth it.
