A) Port Louis, Mauritius

Q) Which course are you currently studying?

A) MBA (University of Sunderland)

Q) What are your living circumstances?

A) I live in my own house. I have been married for 12 yrs and my wife, Priscille, and I have 2 kids; 1 daughter of 4 yrs and 1 son of 10 yrs.

Q) Do you work full-time or part-time and where?

A) I work full-time as a Purchasing and Plant Manager for a construction company.

Q) Why did you choose RDI?

A) I wanted a recognised centre that can deliver British qualifications. Because I am working full time, I chose the distance learning method to have the flexibility to progress, taking into consideration my commitments.

Q) Did you always think you'd be studying for your qualifications?

A) Yes. I already have a BSc in Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University, awarded in 1989! I wanted to do my MBA for quite a while now, but due to other commitments this has not been possible.

Q) Any adversity or issues along the way?

A) It is quite hard to go back to studies after such a long time.

Q) How has Higher Education changed your career, personal life or you as a person?

A) With my qualifications, I have been able to progress in my career and together with my experience I have been able to take up some high responsibility within the organisations I have been working with.

Q) What do you believe are the main benefits of distance learning?

A) Flexibility, study at your own pace, study after working hours and whenever free time is available.

Q) What will your qualification give you and what is next?

A) I am not expecting much. Perhaps going up one level more in my organisation but this is not the main issue. I am doing my MBA as a personal challenge and because I always wanted to have this qualification. I do not want to regret not having done this course.
