Computing and Media
Computing and Media represents an exciting development for RDI with a set of innovative programmes. Those interested in following a degree programme in computing can opt for either the BSc Business Computing or MSc Information Technology. The BSc is a full three year programme that provides students with a firm grounding in key elements of computing. Entrants to the MSc will normally be graduates but this does need to be from a computing or IT programme. The course is also suitable for those with significant relevant work experience who do not have graduate qualifications. The HND in Computing and Systems Development provides an opportunity to achieve a highly regarded award that provides entry into the final year of the computing degree.
Commencing in January 2013 the BA Graphic Design is the latest programme to be developed by RDI. This innovative course will provide online students with the opportunity to develop skills in graphic design. It provides a firm academic foundation but is heavily geared towards encouraging creativity through the use of portfolio type assessments and design briefs. Skills will be developed both in traditional graphic design and the use of software. The programme is highly individualistic and provides opportunities for networking globally with other students.
The RDI staff teaching on these programmes hold relevant academic or professional qualifications and are experienced tutors. Like our other tutors they are appointed in accordance with our rigorous selection criteria and are all approved by our university partners. All our staff have a commitment to developing their subject specialism and many are actively undertaking consultancy or publishing research. A list of staff with their subject interests is given below.
