Business and Management
The Business and Management Faculty is the largest of our academic groups. Through this Faculty we offer many of our most popular courses covering a full range of levels from HND through to MBA. Our experienced Admissions staff can help you identify which is the right course for you and help you through the application process. Most students enter at the start of the programme but appropriately qualified applicants may be eligible for an accelerated top-up route.
For those who are working managers, the MBA remains one of the most important qualifications that can be achieved. Universally recognised, the MBA ensures that its graduates have a firm foundation in key functional areas of business and management such as marketing, finance and HRM. MBA students also study business strategy and complete a dissertation showing how they can apply their learning to a real business problem. Other modules are fitted around these depending on the student’s interests. In addition to a general MBA, RDI also provides named routes in Marketing, HRM, Finance, Law, Service Excellence, Project Management and Management Consultancy.
Master degrees, like the MBA, usually require a degree for entry, although those with substantial work experience are welcomed. It is also possible to complete a specialist Masters degree. Those we offer include MSc International Tourism Management and MSc Telecommunications. We also offer a very specialist MBA focusing on the global food industry.
For those interested in undergraduate study we offer a range of Bachelor degrees and HNDs in Business and Management related areas. These include BA Business; HND Business; and HND Travel and Tourism. A full list is given below. We know that many students do not want to commit to a full degree and so offer a range of Certificate and Diploma courses, such as the Graduate Diploma and Certificate in Management and HR Management.
All the awards studied through RDI are validated and quality assured by leading UK public universities and include: Anglia Ruskin University, Bradford University and the Royal Agricultural College. HNDs are offered in conjunction with Edexcel. Quality assurance is extremely important to us and we work hard to ensure that the experience that we give our students is the equivalent of those provided by partner universities.
The Business and Management Faculty is also home to the well qualified and experienced tutors who deliver the programmes in this area. RDI tutors are appointed in accordance with our rigorous selection criteria and are all approved by our university partners. RDI academic staff will normally have postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience either of teaching in higher education or of working in a relevant industry. Many RDI tutors are actively undertaking consultancy or publishing research and all have a commitment to developing their subject specialism.
