More about Degree Top-ups
Studied over one year, a top-up to a degree provides you with an in-depth knowledge of a subject and the possibility of greater career opportunities than you would get with just an HND.
Why choose a Degree Top-up with RDI?
A top-up degree can be a popular way to gain a full UK Bachelors degree with your existing qualifications. RDI Admissions Advisors are able to fully assess the subject of your HND and the module content and let you know if you would be eligible for entry to the top-up.
If you have successfully completed an HND or BTEC qualification or Foundation Degree and want to take your studies further, a degree top-up could be the next step to securing a full undergraduate degree.

How Long Will The Course Take?
Although studying online can be done entirely at your own pace, a Degree top-up is usually completed in around 2 years. However our students have complete flexibility with their timetable, so you could complete it in as little as 12 months.
What Kind of Support Will I Get
When you choose distance learning with RDI, we work with our partners from the get-go to ensure you receive the maximum amount of educational support. Although it is a different experience to studying on-campus at a university, you will have direct access to course tutors to guide you through your studies.
Where Can I Study?
As our Degree Top up course is completed online, you have full control over when and where you study, which means you can fit your studies in around work commitments.
You will of course have access to an extensive support network, so although you’re not on-campus at a university, you will always have someone on hand to help you get the most out of your degree.
Which Universities Award the Degree Top-up?
We partner with 2 major UK universities for Degree Top-up courses, each specialising in a different range of subjects; Anglia Ruskin University and the University of Sunderland.
Depending on which course you choose you will receive your degree from one of the two aforementioned, internationally recognised universities.
Who Are The Courses Recognised By?
Once you have completed your course with RDI it will be recognised by employers in the same way as any other degree. You can then use it to further your career or even take the next step in your education.
What are my Career Opportunities with a Degree Top up?
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is usually a requirement for access to any graduate scheme with businesses. For this reason it is important that you choose a course that is relevant to your chosen career, as this will help you to demonstrate your advanced understanding of the subject matter.
Am I Eligible?
In order to be eligible for the Degree Topup course with RDI we ask for a BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma (or equivalent) in your chosen subject or equivalent.
It is also important to have an English language ability equivalent to IELTS 5.5
How Much Does a Degree Top Up Cost?
At RDI we pride ourselves in offering affordable and flexible access to higher education. We put you in control of your studies and finances so it’s entirely up to you whether you pay in full or spread the cost of your studies.
As with all courses, the cost varies depending on what you are studying, your location and the payment plan you choose. For more information view our fee options here.
Residents of England and Wales may also apply for a Student Loan, similar to those who study on campus.
I work full-time in the Finance department of a truck manufacturing company in the Netherlands. Through RDI, I realised that with a bit of extra effort, next to my full-time job I can acquire a University degree. This has been my long time goal. My experience of RDI was great!...
